South Tampa is the kind of place where you get to know your streets on foot — the brick roads of Palma Ceia, the front porches of Hyde Park, a walk or a bike ride down Bayshore Boulevard with the bay on one side and the oaks on the other. It's a neighborhood built around a slower, more personal way of living. Hair by Heni was built the same way.
I'm Henriett — Heni to my clients — and I bring the salon to you. No waiting room, no crowded chairs, no rushing to make the next appointment. Just a quiet, unhurried service in your own home, using organic, low-tox products chosen to be gentle on your hair, your body, and your space. If you live in Palma Ceia, Hyde Park, SoHo, Bayshore Beautiful, or anywhere across South Tampa, you're right at the heart of where I work.
Why in-home hairdressing suits South Tampa
There's a rhythm to South Tampa that doesn't leave much room for sitting in a salon for half a day. Between work, school runs, and everything in between, the drive-park-wait cycle adds up. Mobile hairdressing removes it entirely. I arrive with everything I need, set up in your kitchen or bathroom, and you get a professional cut or color without leaving the house.
For some clients it's about time. For others, it's about comfort — being in your own environment, on your own schedule, with a stylist who's fully focused on you and only you. That one-on-one attention is the whole point. South Tampa sits inside my no-travel-fee zone, so there's no added charge for the visit. You're as close as it gets.
European training, brought home to Tampa
I began my career in Tampa in the late 1990s, then spent nearly two decades training and working across Europe — first in France and the Netherlands, then in London, where I co-owned Hairport, a pinup-inspired salon in the heart of the city. That stretch abroad shaped how I cut, how I color, and how I think about hair as something to care for rather than simply style.
When I came home to Tampa, I renewed my Florida cosmetology license and built Hair by Heni as a private mobile studio. The training came with me. So did the philosophy: organic and low-tox wherever possible, gentle on the scalp, and precise in the cut. When I'm not with mobile clients, you can find me a few days a week at Blow Bar in Tampa.
A specialty in sensitive-scalp and post-chemotherapy care
Not every head of hair is the same, and not every scalp can tolerate the products most salons reach for by default. I specialize in caring for clients with sensitive scalps, and I'm bringing a specialization in post-chemotherapy hair care to my mobile practice.
If you're returning to hair care after treatment, you already know how much has changed — the texture, the fragility, the way your scalp responds. My approach is gentle, ammonia-free, and paced to what you're comfortable with. There's no pressure and no rush. Post-chemotherapy hair care is priced on consultation, because every situation is different and deserves a real conversation before anything else. The privacy of being at home, rather than in a busy salon, tends to matter a great deal here too.

What a visit looks like
Booking is simple and personal. You send a request through the site with what you're looking for and a couple of times that work, and I reply to confirm — this isn't an automated instant-book system, because I'd rather talk through your hair and your schedule first. There's no payment online; you settle up at the appointment by Venmo, Zelle, cash, or tap-to-pay.
On the day, I bring everything. All you need is a little space and access to water. I set up, we talk through what you want, and I get to work. When we're done, I pack up and leave your home exactly as I found it. If you're in South Tampa and you've been meaning to sort your hair out without giving up an afternoon to do it, send a booking request through the site and I'll get back to you to confirm a time.
